In His Own Words:

I'm Noel, and I'm an engineer. To be honest, I didn't want to be an engineer, but instead my dream is to be a fitness model. My family did not have the healthiest habits, and by modeling, I can show not only them, but the whole world the results of hard work and commitment. I am a graduate student at SDSU and know a lot about fluid mechanics and multivariable calculus. Off the clock, I like to keep my mind sharp by solving puzzles or meditating.

Q&A Time

What is your biggest fear?

I don't have much that I fear personally, but I am concerned about the times we live in. As humans, it is our responsibility to be the protectors of our planet and to maintain harmony in society. An olive branch is a stronger tool than a cannon when it comes to unifying the world. People just don't know how to use it.

Describe your ideal date.

We'd do something educational and fun, like a museum. As for the guy, he's got to be smart, since beauty fades and intelligence lasts forever.

What moment in your life gave the biggest impact?

When I was around the age of 12 or so, I took a close look at my family photos over the years. Faces and places stayed the same, but if there was one thing that changed over time, it would be the shapes within the pictures. My parents and sisters turned from lines to circles, and I had an epiphany. If I didn't change my habits, I would turn out like them. After joining a local gym, I busted my old habits and slimmed down. Then after applying an evolving strength training program, I started getting "gains" as a lot of people would say. Never turned back.

What would you do with a million dollars?

Invest in my own fitness program and start up a gym.

If you were President of the United States, and no one could question your authority, what would your first law be?

I’d remodel the entire education system. PE would be mandatory, and learning will be focused on the individual rather than the whole class. Everyone has different learning styles, and shoehorning a square student into a round curriculum is not going to help at all.

If you can travel to any country (besides the United States), where would you go?

I’d love to travel the whole world. Too many countries to list, but if I had to pick one, I’d have to say France. There’s be a language barrier, but as long as my sister Natalie is with me, then we’ll be fine. She spent a year there on a foreign exchange program and learned a lot of French. Second place would be snowboarding in the Swiss Alps.

Would you rather be rich or famous?

Both are overrated, but if I had enough money to live comfortably, and lived a life with beneficial influence upon others, then I can die a happy man.

What is your favorite thing to do in San Diego?

In San Diego? Specifically? Most things I like can be done anywhere. There is this local place I hang out with friends sometimes. Does that count?

If you were stuck alone on a deserted island with nothing but the clothes on your back, how would you pass the time before being rescued?

Better to be proactive than reactive. Since your question is vague regarding what is on the island itself, I’m going to assume that there are enough trees to build a raft suitable for one person. No way I’ll willingly keep myself stranded from civilization. One drawback is that there is no way to determine where said civilization will be at. Keep in mind that even with all of these assumptions that if I die, Tribal will pay for my funeral.

If you played a standard MMORPG, which of the following roles would you play? (Tank, Healer, Damage)

While I don’t play very many games anymore, I used to be a DPS, or Damage per Second, in my guild. We raided a few days a week while I was in undergrad. Nowadays, I see it as a waste of time that could have been spent bettering my real self.

If you could teach a school subject to a group of high schoolers, what would it be and why?

Math, chemistry, or physics. Not biology though; I don’t know enough to be a credible source.
